By playing around with different combinations of Actions and their settings and you can make a huge variety of amazing animations. ![]() You can apply all of the Basic Actions to a shape plus one of the Emphasis Actions. When you run the slide, you’ll see the animation.īut here’s the cool magic part. Select one of them to apply the Action to the selected shape. Notice that it’s divided into two sections: Basic and Emphasis. Click on it and you’ll see these buttons. Then, look at the upper right corner to find the Animate icon. Just open Keynote, start a slide, and select a shape. It took me a while to discover their magic. What I’m going to tell you here is how to use what are called Actions. Not only does Keynote on the M1 spit out video like a fire breathing dragon, but it makes learning new stuff easy because you get feedback fast.Īpple’s online help for Keynote is excellent and there are plenty of tutorials about how to get going in it. If I were a cave dweller, I’d be the last one to discover fire. It was on my iMac for years and it’s free. Then, a few years ago, I discovered that I could generate videos from Apple Keynote. I’d spend months flailing around in an app, get dissatisfied and discouraged, stall out, and try another. I spent years searching, downloading, buying, and learning a lot of these.
